This is just a quick update to let you know where things are at today. As requested, Miriam went in to VGH this morning just before 10:00. Although at first there didn't seem to be a plan in place for her, God intervened and advocated on her behalf. She did not have to wait long at all in the waiting room before being admitted and seen by medical staff. After some conferring between the surgeon and the emerg doctors, it was decided that Miriam's surgery is to take place tomorrow, Monday (we don't yet know what time). During the day today, Miriam will be undergoing a series of pre-op procedures and tests so that they are ready to go tomorrow. Again, the main purpose of tomorrow's surgery is to pin the femur in order to protect it from breaking.
Ruth has been in Vancouver with Miriam until mid-day today, and Marylynne and Jill have gone in to be there this afternoon and evening. I am sure that when they get back, we'll have some more details that we can share with you.
