April 17, 2010

Here is our update for Miriam and a brief description of the treatment she is undergoing for uterine cancer.  This type of uterine cancer is  hormone driven and there are three ways to treat this type of cancer. These treatments include radiation, chemotherapy, and hormone therapy. The team has decided that they are going to begin with hormone therapy in the hopes that this will keep the cancer from spreading any further. Miriam began taking medication for this therapy yesterday, and the plan is to do this for the next while and then re-assess to see if the treatment is having the desired effect. She will be having a CT scan already this Friday (23rd) and the oncology team will continue to monitor Miriam's health during his time.

Please continue to pray for Miriam.  These are days of real testing for Miriam and her faith continues to deepen in the midst. This is such a challenge to us who walk alongside of her. God's grace is sufficient and our prayer continues to be for the "peace that passes understanding" in these uncertain days.

  1. You were in our hearts at BSF fellowship today Miriam and you continue in my prayers. I hope you are able to enjoy watching the buds relax and spread as spring's promise of renewal bursts into colour. May your health and strength also blossom. Love Ann (Sheldon)
