I want to give you a quick update on Miriam's day today. As you no doubt are aware, she was booked at the Vancouver General Hospital today for her hysterectomy surgery. Miriam went into surgery just before 12:00 noon, and was there for about two and a half hours. Marylynne and Ruth were there when she came back to her room and Miriam's first words were ... "let's pray!" That was followed fairly shortly by a request for jello!! Although they haven't seen any of the attending surgeons yet, they did see a doctor who is following up with Miriam. That doctor's remarks indicated that the surgery went well, with no apparent complications. While performing the surgery, the surgeon scoped around to see if there were any other visible areas affected by cancer, and there did not appear to be any. Thank the Lord for that!
Thank you so much for your prayers for her today. God certainly answered by bringing her through this surgery successfully. I am not sure how long she will be in the hospital, but knowing how quickly they move you out, I don't think she'll be in too long. God has been so good to give us such a supportive team in all of you, her family and friends. I'll update the blog again when we hear more specifics.
