March 7, 2010

Greetings! It has been a while since I have updated my blog, but want to let you know where things are at in my journey.  I began going back to my teaching job at Abby Middle after Christmas, beginning with a couple half days per week, and stretching that to two full days per week. During this time, I have continued to receive therapy treatments for my leg and have found that God has answered prayers regarding strengthening and healing in my leg.

There have been ongoing appointments and check-ups with the doctors over these past months just to see if they could find the “elusive” primary source of cancer. As a result of some of these tests, some follow-up was needed in the form of a biopsy which was done less than a week ago. The results of the biopsy revealed that there is malignancy in my endometrium (lining of the uterus), and the gynecologist indicated that she would be meeting with her team and planning for surgery (hysterectomy) in order to remove the infected organ(s). This is to happen sometime within the next three weeks if possible.

God has been faithful in answering so many prayers over the past months, and I find that once again I am cast on Him for this new lap in my journey.  I have read some excellent verses of encouragement in Daily Light again over the past few days. “For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shall perish.” (Psalm 1:6) “With us is the Lord our God, to help us and to fight our battles.” (2 Chronicles 32:8) “The Lord your God in your midst, the Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness.” (Zephaniah 3:17)

I look forward to how God will once again show Himself faithful over these next weeks, and ask that you continue to join me in your prayers. Thanks for partnering with me through this time.

Miriam
